This article highlights my top picks including some of my personal favorites. Plus, these coffee shops also offer gluten-free options along with some delicious plant-based baked goods as well. 

Coming from someone who has been living a vegan lifestyle (predominantly raw) for over 10 years, I’ve made it a point to explore. Not just for myself but to be able to share with you my vegan finds in the hopes of inspiring you toward a more compassionate way to live. 

And I can tell you this… There are so many more options now than there were years ago. 

So whether you’re vegan, transitioning, or just curious, this diverse list is sure to offer something for everyone!

From bustling urban cafes to cozy local hot spots, these establishments offer a diverse array of expertly crafted vegan coffee and pastries to enjoy. Plus delicious food you can pick up for a quick breakfast or lunch. 

West Coast

Coffee and Plants

Coffee and Plants is Los Angeles’ first 100% plant-based coffee shop and a must-stop for vegan pastries and coffee drinks. And if you’re up for a breakfast sandwich, their avocado toast (aka avocado tartine) or their Just Egg vegan cheese croissant are delicious food options. 

Coffee and Plants is a popular hot spot among locals and visitors alike, vegan and non-vegan. All are welcome. So whether you opt for a cappuccino with oat milk or a latte with almond milk, their coffee drink options are amazing. 

They even have puppuccino for your fur baby!

This super cute place is sure to become your favorite stop for plant-based goodness any time!

Timeless Coffee 

Timeless Coffee has 4 different California locations. All offer dine-in services, takeout, and delivery. However, times vary at each location so be sure to check hours ahead of time.

This gem is a 100% plant-based organic coffee roastery and bakery with a mission to inspire you to live and eat with compassion. 

All of their menu items are made in-house daily so you can expect freshness each time – from coffee to baked goods to all kinds of cakes and cookies.

The company prides itself on being a good steward, not only in what they do but for the animals, people, and our beautiful earth. So when you walk into Timeless Coffee, you can expect a good feel kinda vibe!

Mud Pie Vegan Bakery & Coffeehouse 

Mud Pie is a great spot for everything from coffee to tea, and baked goods – all plant-based vegan, and cruelty-free. With their extensive coffee and tea menu you are sure to find the perfect cup of Joe to start your day!

Gigi’s Vegan + Wellness Café 

Gigi’s Vegan + Wellness Café is among the best vegan restaurants in Kansas City. Not really a “coffee shop” but they are worth mentioning for a stop-in if you’re in the area. They offer a variety of plant-based dishes, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and elixirs. A perfect place for holistic wellness options. 

Everything is 100% vegan, organic, sustainable, soy and gluten-free. Best of all, their offerings consist of raw living healthy food! 

Additionally, they offer a wide selection of vegan pantry items and supplements available for purchase in their wellness shop. Definitely check them out if you’re in the area.

Soulshine Vegan Café 

This cute little place in Indianapolis is a must-stop if you’re in the area. They offer all kinds of delicious coffee options including local favorites like their Pumpkin Chai Latte, Tiramisu Latte, and Vegan Miel. 

However, if you want more than just good coffee and baked goods, you can stop in for breakfast or lunch and enjoy a variety of vegan food options. 

Some of the plant-based menu items from their vegan kitchen include:

  • Tofu scramble
  • Frittata 
  • Chia seed pudding
  • Bagels
  • or a Bread Zeppelin vegan burger for lunch 

Between the ambiance, friendly staff, and cozy vibes, Soulshine is definitely a great place to stop in.

Old Abe Coffee Shop 

Old Abe Coffee Shop is also a vegan meat-free restaurant offering breakfast, smoothies, sandwiches, and bowls. Their vegan dishes include delicious plant-based food in addition to a wide variety of coffee drinks. As well as locally brewed beer.

Among their biggest hits are their most wanted ‘salmon’ breakfast plant-based sandwich (bagel) and their Drift Dough boutique donuts. 

You can also enjoy popular plant-based meals such as:

  • Korean BBQ Bulgogi

Wildflour Vegan Bakery & Café

Wildflour is a women-owned 100% vegan bakery and cafe in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. They offer delicious vegan food options including baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, grain bowls, and salads. 

Rest assured, you’re getting some good stuff as their food is made fresh daily with high-quality ingredients. 

They also have an extensive drink menu including specialty coffee drinks, lattes, teas, and espresso. With so many options to choose from, you’ll have a hard time deciding!  

And if you’re health conscious, stop by the juice bar for some fresh juices, smoothies, fresh fruit, and other yummy raw eats. 

Gluten-free options are available as well.

Batter and Crumbs 

This all-vegan bakery and cafe is a hot spot in Philly offering a full coffee bar with espresso drinks, drip coffee, and cold brew. They also offer a good variety of baked goods including cookies, cupcakes, cakes, muffins, and pastries. 

And if you’d like to stop in for lunch, they also have tasty sandwiches to fill you up along with other food items. 

Batter and Crumbs has a bright and airy kinda vibe and is a popular spot for both vegans and non-vegans alike.

Terms of Endearment 

Terms of Endearment is an all-plant-based cafe and pastry shop in Brooklyn, NY. They offer several coffee options from espresso, cappuccino, lattes, and teas. 

They also feature tasty and creative breakfast and lunch sandwiches for dine-in or a quick grab-and-go.

Stephanie’s Vegan Bakery and Café

Stephanie’s Vegan Bakery is a family-owned and operated cafe shop in the Fort Lauderdale area. They offer delicious pastries that include croissants, empanadas, and pastelitos in addition to their coffee drink offerings. 

With only a few minutes from the beach, it’s one of the best places to stop for pastries and cakes in Fort Lauderdale. Everything here is so good and will keep you coming back for more! Plus, the service is top-notch.

Lily’s Herbs & More Vegan Cafe is a quaint, relaxing vegan cafe in Indialantic, Florida. Here you can find healthy, all-vegan food along with organic freshly brewed coffee and teas. 

The cafe shares space with an herbal shop which boasts an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. 

Lilly’s herbal shop offers an array of natural body products, medicinal herbs, and organic herbal blends as well as homemade candles.

Living Vine Organic Cafe is a family-owned organic juice bar and cafe with a wide selection of menu items. In addition to various coffee drinks, they offer raw juices, smoothies, bowls, homemade fresh organic vegan food, and GF-baked goods. 

They use nothing but the best ingredients to make their food while keeping it organic and local when possible. This ensures clean and healthy food options without preservatives, dyes, non-GMO, and pesticide & insecticides free.

Jet Black Coffee Company 

Jet Black Coffee Company is a 100% vegan coffee shop in the Pacific Northwest serving high-quality coffee that is ethically sourced and roasted. Additionally, they work with Portland’s Water Avenue Coffee to source their coffee beans and use Holy Kakow organic syrups. 

Non-coffee drinks are also avaialble. These include Tanglewood Beverage’s Ginger Spiced Chai and organic teas from ohQua. But they don’t stop there. 

Jet Black Coffee Company also serves a variety of delicious vegan snacks and baked goods. They also offer a large outdoor partially covered patio area where you are more than welcome to bring your animal companion.
