Traveling around the world is becoming easier as travel restrictions have been lifted. Not only for those who have undergone the Covid vaccination but also for those who have not. However, if you have not been vaccinated, certain requirements still apply prior to entry depending on the destination.
So where do travelers who have not been vaccinated fit in, and what countries are allowing unvaccinated tourists to enter?
Below is a list of countries allowing entry without a vaccination along with their requirements prior to arrival; But before you book your next trip overseas, be sure to check the CDC for Covid risk updates on the destination country.

Unvaccinated travelers can visit Greece with proof of a negative covid test within 72 hours prior to entry or a negative rapid antigen test from an authorized lab within 24 hour prior to arrival.

2. Portugal and Madeira
Unvaccinated travelers entering Portugal or Madeira must either show proof of vaccination, a valid recovery certificate, a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before departure, or a negative rapid antigen test taken 24 hours prior to entry.
Unvaccinated travelers can enter Croatia with proof of a negative PCR test issued within 72 hours prior to entry, a negative rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours before arrival or proof that you have recovered from Covid in the past 9 months.

Unvaccinated travelers can enter Cyprus with proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure or a negative rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours prior to departure. Travelers are also required to complete a Cyprus Flight Pass 48 hours prior to departure.

All travelers to Mexico are currently only required to complete a declaration of health form and must have the QR code from that form readily available on entry into the country. However, you may be required to submit to a health screening at the airport upon arrival. Once in the country, resorts are able to request guests to complete a health questionnaire upon arrival.

Unvaccinated travelers can enter the Maldives with proof of a negative PCR test along with the negative PCR certificate upon arrival to the Maldives. Both the test and certificate must have been issued within 96 hours before departure. If you are not fully vaccinated, you will still be required to self-isolate for 14 days upon entry. Then take an exit test before leaving quarantine. Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to isolate.

Unvaccinated travelers entering Italy will need to show proof that they have either recovered from Covid within 6 months, show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of their trip or a negative rapid antigen test taken within 48 hours of their trip.
If vaccinated, you just need to show proof of vaccination within 9 months or that you have received a booster shot.
All travelers will also have to fill out a Passenger Locator Form before entry into the country. Travelers who enter without one of the required documents will have to undergo a five-day quarantine before testing out of it.

As of February 25, 2022 all Covid restrictions were removed, including domestic rules. Which means travelers no longer need to test or show proof of vaccination status to enter the country.
Travel Insurance and ETIAS
This is not the same as obtaining a visa. It’s an electronic requirement similar to the US ESTA and has been established in order to identify security, irregular migration or high epidemic risks presented by visa-exempt visitors traveling to the Schengen States.
