Your mind is the most powerful asset you own and what goes in and out of it, will either make you or break you…
Last year in 2019, the words I chose were growth and evolution. I not only grew and evolved tremendously, I learned so much throughout the entire past decade. In turn, propelling me into 2020 with my new word RISE.
It’s not only a New Year, it’s a new decade which for me, clearly marks the beginning of the rewards from the fruits I cultivated through hard work over the last 10 years.

Last week, I had the opportunity to present at a Pink Mentor Network event on Shifting to a Success Mindset. I love this topic so much because it is BIG!
It’s in shifting my own mindset that I was able to transform my life. Which is why this topic is so important to me. The moment I began practicing and focusing my energy on making conscious mindset shifts, my life began to turn around.
I went from complaining and being miserable in a life of struggle as a single teenage mom trying to raise a child the best way I knew how to completely transforming my life; all by simply becoming more conscious of what I thought, spoke and listened to.
I stopped thinking negative thoughts and started shifting my focus and energy toward goals that would support the life I wanted for myself and my daughter.
I stopped gossiping about others, talking smack and speaking words that were meaningless for my life goals.
I stopped watching the news. That is the most toxic behavior you can engage in. Stop while you’re ahead and I promise, it will change your life!
It was when I began to work on myself – mind, body and spirit that all areas in my life began to shift. I started creating successful outcomes for myself rather than dwell in unsuccessful ones.
It’s amazing how a simple shift in thought and focus can transform your entire life.
If I’d fail, I’d pick myself right back up, try again and keep moving. Just like a child does when he or she is learning to do something they want so bad. Like, perhaps, learning to ride a bike, learning to skateboard, learning to swim or play a sport.
When you’re a child, you don’t think of anything other than what you want.
Why not do the same as an adult? You see, somewhere along the way, we ‘learned’ to talk about others, get consumed by negative thought, watch what corrupts our minds and so on…
We learned from watching and listening to others, specifically our own parents. Sometimes that isn’t such a good thing. Then, we go and pass those learnings onto our own kids.
A great book, by the way for parenting is The Conscious Parent by Dr. Shefali which I HIGHLY recommend. What an amazing book! I would have loved to have something like this to read all those years ago but I am grateful that I can at least share it now, with you.
Understand that, behavior is learned and just as it is learned, it can be unlearned.
All you have to do is take it one day at a time, one goal at a time and once you start to build momentum, you begin to master the process. Then, there is no way you’re going to turn back.
It doesn’t happen overnight but with daily, continuous practice, you can break the habit and make it happen. Yes, you have time.
The question is, are you willing to make time for YOU and your life?
How bad do you want to lose healthy weight and keep it off?
How bad do you want to clear your acne scarred skin and feel beautiful?
How bad do you want to feel energized and vibrant?
How bad do you want to get fit and healthy?
How bad do you want to travel?
Whatever you want, you make time for the things you want to make time for. So if making time for you and your life is not as important as a party, a trip, a phone call, a dinner or whatever, then, no, you won’t have time.
So, tell me, are you ready to make some serious mindset shifts this year that will catapult you into the next 10? Comment below and let me know.👇🏼
