Whether you’re struggling to lose healthy weight, make healthier lifestyle changes, make strides in your career, or get ahead in your life, it’s all going to boil down to how well you set yourself up for success.
Now, what success may mean to you, may mean something different to someone else. To you, it may mean reaching your ideal weight and keeping it off or transitioning into a vegetarian lifestyle. To someone else it may mean, getting a promotion or becoming the MVP player on the basketball team.
We each have our own definition of success but none-the-less, the steps to reaching it remains the same. So, how do you get started?
By first getting clear on what it is that you want to achieve.
This means write down your goals in precise fashion. Think about what you truly want to achieve and put it down on paper. Start with one and give it every ounce of focus and energy you have until you reach it.
You can’t expect to move forward in life, if you’re not clear on what it is that you want. Getting clear, writing down your goal, and reviewing it several times a day to the point where you are obsessed with it, will allow you to stay focused and bring your written goals to fruition.
And secondly, make changes in your environment.
What your environment looks like will determine how successful you will be in achieving your goal.
So, if you are hanging around people who have no ambition, direction, motivation, or are sucking your energy dry, how far do you think you’ll get in life? Do you think you’ll be able to achieve your goals, let alone even set them?
Or, if you’re looking to lose 10 lbs. and get healthy but have chips, cookies, and all kinds of processed junk foods in your kitchen, then, come home and sit on the couch after picking up fast food take out, how do you think you’re going to reach that goal?
Your environment plays a major role in setting you up for success. Whether it’s reaching your ideal weight, landing a promotion, or pursuing your dreams. Who you surround yourself with and what your living environment looks like, will determine how far you will get.
This week start by writing down one goal you would like to achieve and get absolutely clear on it. Next, write down what it is you would have to change in your environment to start making strides toward reaching it. It may be your social circle, your home, work environment, or any other area you might need to adjust in order to get you to reaching your goal.
Whatever it is, commit to making the changes. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
