My Mini Christmas Haul 2020

Yankee Candle is vegan and cruelty-free!

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been to the mall. Especially since covid took over. Usually when I do end up going, I park near the store or stores I want to go to so that it’s easier to go in and out. I already know what I want to buy ahead of time so that way I can just shoot straight for the store, get what I want and leave. At least that’s the plan. Lol.

Most of the time, I end up getting more than what I said I was going to get and what starts out as 1-2 items, ends up turning into 5-10+ depending on what store I’m in. Hence, one of the reasons I stay out of the mall! I’m more of an online shopper anyway, because let’s face it, who doesn’t like to shop in their sweats from the comfort of their own home? Even more so now with the pandemic in the air. Better safe at home!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my story a couple of days ago around my trip to the mall. It was a completely different scene than when I was there last over a year ago.

It wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be, everyone was all masked up, plexi-glass at just about every register and I even came across a new mall store with the name, “Designer Masks.”  Crazy how times have changed in such a short period of time, right? It just goes to show that a lot can happen in one year!

The only reason I went to the mall this time is because I wanted to go into Yankee Candle to get some wax melts and I don’t know about you, but for me, when it comes to scents, I have to get a sniff of them before buying.

They don’t all smell good, ya know!

By the way, did you know that Yankee Candle products are vegan and cruelty-free? I had no idea until I researched it and when I learned this to be true, I was over the moon! I’ve been buying from them for years so this made me super happy! ☺️

Fast forward, I ended up leaving with 4 new candles and 8 wax melts. All I wanted was a few Christmas scents for my burner and this is what happened. Turns out, the candles were on sale 2 for 2! That means each candle was $10 each as long as you bought 4. So that’s exactly what I did.. I couldn’t resist! Lol.

All from going to the store… At least online, I can close the window and shut down before I do some serious damage but there’s something about being in the store that gets you!

The temptation was real and I caved!🤷🏻‍♀️ If you’ve ever been into a Yankee Candle store, you’ll know the candles can be super expensive but they do last a long time.

The candles I bought are from their Elevation Collection. What makes this collection unique is that you can use the candle lid as the base for the candle to sit on. It fits perfectly! It’s a 3-wick candle (wick is made from 100% natural fibers) and they burn for 28-30 hours. What I love is that they’re made out of soy wax blend and essential oils. Good stuff!

While I was there, I also ended up going into Abercrombie & Fitch which is one of the stores I used to buy a lot from years ago so I was curious to see what they had on sale. I had seen one of their holiday sweaters online that I liked so I thought why not stop in and take a peek!

They’ve got some cute stuff… But, I will say that their pricing in-store is not the same as their pricing online so you are better off shopping from their website to get in on some of their deals and lower pricing! I think this goes with just about anywhere you shop online.

I ended up buying the sweater. It’s the one I have on which I thought was cute and festive. It’s a good thing I had to go because I may have gotten some other things! Get ready for their after Christmas sale for some good discounts, though. That’s when you’ll really make out! Although, right now they do have 40-60% off select styles for a limited time.

I also bought a cute BCBG rose pom beanie from Marshalls HomeGoods. It was the last one, so of course I had to grab it! Here’s another cute beanie you might like or a similar one at Nordstrom

Hope you’re making headway with your Christmas shopping. Only a few days left… Yikes!
