This adults-only Big Pine Key bed and breakfast is eco-friendly, sustainable, and beachfront. Recycled water barrels and solar energy are used property-wide. A full organic, vegan breakfast is served daily. A mineral spring salt water pool with a spa is on site. Free bikes, kayak, and snorkel gear are provided at Deer Run on the Atlantic. Guests may also see the endangered key deer on site. A flat-screen TV with cable channels, as well as an iPod docking station are provided. Certain units feature a seating area for your convenience. Rooms are equipped with a private bathroom with a hot tub and shower, with free toiletries provided. Key West is 29 mi from Deer Run on the Atlantic, while Marathon is 17 mi away.

Here at Deer Run on the Atlantic, we offer a beautiful mix of modern comfort and amenities in a rural, rustic location. Deer Run is located with full Southern exposure on the Atlantic ocean with a natural “living” beach, something that is very exclusive, but highly sought after, in the Florida Keys. Kick off your shoes, stretch out on a lounger, and allow yourself to heal from the grind of work and obligations. We strive to offer you a throwback Keys experience that most people thought was lost decades ago. **We are 2 miles off US1, No noise from road, private stetting, gated entrance for your privacy.**
Deer Run on the Atlantic is green lodging in the authentic sense. Perhaps places consider themselves “green” but the main component… food… is almost always the “elephant in the room.” We are a 100% plant based, vegan establishment. This extends far beyond our food, but yes it does include our food. We source as much organic as possible (including organic sheets and towels), have comforters in the rooms stuffed with RePET fill, have water saver toilets, showers and faucets, heavily xeriscaped the property, compost, recycle, support fair trade including our coffee, chocolate, cocoa and vanilla (those industries are known for their human exploitation/slave labor practices), source vintage items and Made in the USA items, have LED lighting and solar lighting throughout the inn and grounds, use EnergyStar high efficiency appliances in front & back of the house, launder with Free & Clear detergent, buy in bulk, do not use travel-size toiletries, and so much more. We are platinum rated as a Green Property by TripAdvisor, and are rated by the State of Florida Green Lodging Program as a 4-palm property. The only 4 Palm rated Resort in all the Florida Keys one of 6 in the state!
Big Pine and the lower Keys are far more rural than most other Keys. The area has a charter boat company offering diving and snorkeling, an eco-tour company offering a wide variety of custom tours, kayak and paddle board tours, Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges Visitor Center, skydiving and Bahia Honda State Park, all within a short drive.
