FAQs

Are solo travelers safe / welcome?

    Absolutely. Both safe and welcome.

Can you arrange an airport transfer? How far is it from the airport?

Our retreat center is about 40 mins north of the Asheville airport. We are happy to provide the contact information of a couple of car services that often pick up our participants.

Is this fully silent the whole time?

The silence starts in the evening after introductions/orientation on the first day and continues until the afternoon on the third day. On the third day there is some group sharing after the silence is broken. The facilitators give short talks and instructions throughout the retreat, but the participants are fully silent.

Why will I need a car during my stay?

We are located on 150 acres of wooded property, away from any towns so it is very dark and we don't want people to lose their way. Although, it is not a long hike, so if you become familiarized with it, it's not hard to find your way. There are also bears in these mountains although we've never seen one on our property - but it's something to consider.
