5 Foundational Habits for a Healthy Lifestyle

The development of all things is based on a strong, solid foundation.  Just like your house and your relationships, your health and your life must also be built on strong, foundational support for sustainability and longevity.  

It took me a long time to figure out how to shift my life from misery and doubt to happiness and unwavering faith with what I learned to be more simple than I actually thought it to be. We tend to complicate things and make matters more complex than they need to be or truly are. 

I know because I did this for years and although I knew deep inside, because the voice inside me continuously reminded me, what was true and what was best to do, I would fall into the trap of doing the opposite. This happens when we allow ourselves to be influenced by others just to “people please” and “fit in” – we conform to the outside world as a result. 

In transforming my own life, this is what I learned…  

In order to create a well-balanced lifestyle and ultimately a life you truly love, you must first develop daily healthy habits that will strengthen and pave the way to reaching your desired lifestyle goals.

You must know that there is no “fast-track” to a healthy, well-balanced life.  It requires time, patience, and trusting in the process of your journey. As a result, you will not only create abundantly successful outcomes, you will also be creating the greatest version of yourself in the process.

It’s a win-win!

So, where do you begin?

Start by implementing these 5 simple foundational habits…

Eat raw living, plant-based foods. It’s no secret that proper nutrition is key for creating a long, healthy lifestyle.  Consuming raw living, plant-based foods are foundational and a must for maximum nutrition and aiding your body’s acid/alkaline balance for optimal health and peak athletic performance.  Raw living foods provide the body with all the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals it needs in order to thrive abundantly in a well-nourished, optimally functioning, alkaline body.  It’s clean eating at its finest and nature’s multi-vitamin!

Exercise Daily. Engaging in daily exercise in conjunction with proper raw food nutrition is the foundation for weight loss, increasing energy reserves, expelling toxins, improving sleep, building self-confidence, creating self-love, and allowing the body to function optimally while reducing the risk of developing disease.  It’s the most effective, natural form of medicine you can give your body.

Make time for meditation. Meditating is foundational for recharging, rebalancing, and revitalizing the mind and body while soothing the soul.  Giving yourself at least 10-15 minutes every morning to bask in stillness and in a tranquil, peaceful state without distractions is a good place to start and a perfect way to jumpstart your day.  Choose a position you are comfortable in and relax. Don’t let your mind wander, don’t let your thoughts race, just be still in appreciation for life and all that of which you are most grateful for.  You will find yourself feeling so good, you’ll begin to naturally increase your meditation time without even realizing it!

Get your mind right. One very important foundational habit to develop for overall well-being and creating a life you love begins with your mind.  Your mind is filled with all kinds of thoughts mostly those of which are excuses and self-discouraging talk. Develop a continuous habit of being on guard with the thoughts you allow to enter it and which thoughts to keep out.  If you don’t control what goes in and out of your head, it will control you. Instead, think thoughts that make you feel good and empower you to be better. Before you know it, you’ll be on your way to living a healthier more fulfilled life!

Nurture your environment. Your environment is a major foundational role player in the creation of your life.  Nurture and cultivate your living space and be very selective in who you spend most of your time with. To improve yourself, you must first improve your relationships by releasing those that no longer serve you and make room for those that do.  For a well-balanced life filled with health, wealth, and happiness, a stress-free, positive-vibe-only tribe is key, which is why it’s important to surround yourself with people who are like-minded, who inspire you, support you, and empower you to become the best version of yourself you can possibly be.

Incorporating these foundational habits into your daily life won’t cost you a thing but allow you to develop healthy, gratifying results of a well-balanced lifestyle reaping much greater rewards in return versus not doing anything at all.
