3-Day Juice Cleanse to Kickoff the New Year

Feeling as if you overindulged over the holidays? It happens! But the good thing is, it doesn’t have to stay that way. Your body is so omnipotent that it has the powerful ability to push through anything MIND and BODY, given the proper fuel.

As I headed into work at Whole Foods bright and early yesterday morning, I had the intention of wanting to do something special for you that would help you get this year off to a healthy start.  I just wasn’t sure whether it would be doing a full 21, 7, or 3-day detox since I wanted to keep it simple and doable instead of something lengthy that chances are, you wouldn’t want to stick with it. 

So, I contemplated it a bit and went on about my morning.

Being that I am currently doing part-time Amazon Prime Shopping at Whole Foods, I get to shop the aisles and see what others are buying as well as connect with those looking to make healthier choices during downtime. I enjoy it because I get to inspire and guide others on how to live a healthier lifestyle and make better nutritional choices even if its on a smaller scale. 

That being said, I noticed a HUGE increase in produce shopping that isn’t typically of the norm. I was gathering kale, apples and carrots in bulk quantities which led me to realize instantly that people were on their annual New Years juicing kick!

It amazed me to see how many people jumped on the detox train after the New Year. So much, that the abundant increase in produce being sold, quickly cleared the shelves! WOW! 😯 

And, that is when I found my answer. 

I decided right then that a 3-day juice cleanse (which also serves as a fast) would be perfect and a good place to start. It not only helps you but in committing to put it out there for you, holds me accountable and supports me as well! It’s something we can do together. 😉

So, if you are at the start of 2020 feeling a bit more sluggish than usual, bloated, puffy eyed and energy drained, you’ll want to give my 3-Day Juice Cleanse a try and get your mind and body back into thriving mode to tackle the start of the year like a champ!

Preparing for your cleanse…

Before you begin, please read the disclaimer and be sure to stock up on fresh organic leafy greens and veggies ready to juice. 

Which juicer should I use? 

I highly suggest using a cold press masticating juicer (without the blade) versus a centrifugal juicer (with blade). 

A cold press juicer allows you to retain more nutrients when juicing and provides you with greater nutritional benefit versus using centrifugal juicer which causes the blade to heat up. In turn, leading to the oxidation of nutrients and lowering the nutritional value of your juice.

6 Juice Cleanse Recipes 

Choose whichever recipes you’d like and drink 6-16oz juices per day. This equates to getting a juice serving approximately every 2 hours. Make the last juice you drink between 6-7pm. Feel free to drink more if you’d like. It’s up to you! 

This is YOUR cleanse. 

This cleanse will not only rejuvenate your mind and body, it will boost your energy levels and pave the way for healthy weight loss. 

The recipes below will yield about 16 ounces or slightly more. They don’t all have to be different so feel free to repeat as many as you’d like. 

To save time and make it easier, make the juice the morning of or the night before so that you have them ready to go. Be sure to store them in the fridge in an airtight container like a mason jar for up to 24 hours. 

clean green

INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 large kale leaves 
  • 1 green apple  
  • A small bunch of cilantro (or parsley) 
  • 1 lemon 
  • 2 celery stalks 

detox beet juice

(great for blood purification, liver cleansing and accelerating weight loss!)

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 small red beet
  • 3 carrots
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 1 small piece of ginger 
  • 1 red apple
  • 1 lemon (peeled if using a masticating juicer / with rind if using a centrifugal juicer)
  • Thumb size piece of turmeric (Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant) 

vibrant glow green juice

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 small fennel bulb
  • 3 large kale leaves
  • 1 handful bunch of parsley
  • 1 piece of turmeric
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 lime (peeled if using a masticating juicer / with rind if using a centrifugal juicer)

detoxifying green juice

INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 small bunch of cilantro
  • 1 zucchini
  • 3 large kale leaves
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 red apple

liver cleansing beet juice

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 small red beet 
  • 1 cucumber
  • 4 celery stalks 
  • 3 large kale leaves
  • 1 small bunch of cilantro
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 lemon

fat blasting citrus juice

(this one can easily be made in a citrus juicer)

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 grapefruit
  • 3 naval oranges
  • 1 lemon
