How important is it really, to eat raw foods? Hmmm… It is a question most ponder on. Well I will break it down for you and explain why I strongly encourage a lifestyle of plant-based, vegan, raw foods. I will say that the transition into eating raw foods is not for everyone. You have to be ready to make a lifestyle change commitment and you have to truly want it.
You have to want to live a life of optimal health bad enough that you will do whatever it takes to make it happen.
Eating raw doesn’t have to be a torturous process. It is as enjoyable as you make it. There are so many healthful raw food options that benefit your body in so many ways that when you start to feel the results, you will find it difficult to turn back.
I didn’t always eat raw. I was a part of cooked foods, meat eating America like most everyone else and always thought of myself as a “health fanatic”. I could not have been more wrong. Little did I know how unhealthy I was eating until I learned what it truly meant to eat healthy and live a true healthful lifestyle. I did eat a lot of raw salads but with added processed junk like dressings, cheese, croutons, etc. I loaded up my salads so much to make them taste better that in my mind I thought it was okay. After all, it was a “salad” and salads are healthy, right? Wrong. Not always.
With so much JUNK out there portraying to be “healthy” and creative marketing techniques, it is easy to be misled into thinking something not-so-healthy for you is actually healthy for you. The best thing you can do for your health and your body is to steer away from the jarred and packaged crap and eat nourishing plant-based, vegan, raw foods low in fat; this along with a daily dose of exercise, meditation and plenty of rest. When you are ready to get started, all you will need is:
- A positive outlook
- An open mind
- and the desire to feel amazing!
The health benefits of incorporating raw foods into your daily life are endless without a doubt but to help you get started with a better understanding as to why eating raw foods is essential to your health and well-being, I have listing some of the most important benefits below.
Health Benefits of a low-fat Raw eating lifestyle include:
Complete nourishment – Cooking your food at anything above 105 degree Fahrenheit not only destroys the food’s nutritional value, it drains the food’s natural water content causing dehydration to your body. Eating raw food is the most nourishing way to feed the body and retain the valuable nutrients, vitamins and minerals that are required by the body for optimal health. Raw foods are abundantly nutritious with the purest form of water available naturally for the body’s hydration.
Natural detoxification – Eating raw foods provides the body with the ability of naturally healing and cleansing itself. In order for the body to even begin the process of detoxification, it must first be supplied with enough vital energy to proceed. When eating cooked foods, the body has to work extra hard to eliminate the toxic, dehydrating waste that is continuously going in while in constant abuse mode. This is a major energy drainer. The less the liver and kidney’s have to work to detoxify the body, the more energy they gain vital to keeping your system free and clean of toxic waste. Eating raw foods is a daily detox and paves the way to a healthier YOU!
Digestive health – Struggles with constipation? Have foul gas and/or stinky fecal matter? All this is a result of the highly processed, denatured and dehydrating foods consumed in the Standard American Diet (SAD). Consumption of raw foods facilitates digestion and allows for a much smoother flow of wastes through the body with a much shorter transit time. When eating raw foods, the transit time for waste removal is lessened to 24 hours or less from the 72 hours or more that it takes to remove waste when on the SAD.
Overall improvement in health & wellness – Raw foods are saturated with essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals, and when eaten in proper combination, the benefits are amazing; some of which consist of the following:
- Excess weight loss
- Increased energy
- Increased mental clarity and memory function
- Improved sleep
- Clearer skin
It is amazing what raw food nutrition can do for the body and overall health. Although these are only some of the benefits proper nutrition creates, you can expect much more when living a true healthful lifestyle in the wonderful world of rawsomeness!
Oxygenation at cellular level – The fact is, when we eat raw foods, we allow our body to do what it does best: heal and clean. This means a cleaner and smoother blood flow. When our blood is healthy, our bodies become healthy and this allows for fresh oxygen to be transported to all of the body’s cells. When this happens, the body is not only working its healing power, it is enhancing your concentration and mental clarity just as well.
Healthy body weight – There are a ton of ways to lose excess body fat but very few lead to healthy weight loss yet still retaining lean body tissue. It is important to lose excess body fat and water weight for your overall health and wellness but it is just as important to keep it off while maintaining a healthy body weight. When you incorporate raw foods low in fat into your daily life, you are welcoming a lifestyle of optimal health, complete nourishment and a healthy well-balanced body.
Ultimately, living a properly combined, plant-based, vegan, low-fat raw food lifestyle consisting of daily exercise, plenty of rest, exposure to natural sunlight, and meditation is the key to longevity and a much greater quality of life. As a result, you can expect to see symptom relief from just about any health condition, improved immunity (less likely to experience colds or flu-like symptoms) and an overall improvement in your health.
Now who wouldn’t want all that in their life? I certainly wouldn’t have it any other way! I cannot tell you enough how great it feels to live in a clean and healthy body with nothing weighing it down. It is a feeling you never want to steer away! Eating the right foods allows for the body to thrive optimally and along with it comes a boost in confidence, self-esteem and most importantly love for yourself.
