As parents, we often wish our children came with an instruction manual or a “how-to” book so we can learn how to be the best parents and to ensure we raise our children the “right” way.
But really, what is the “right” way?
The fact is, there is no “right” way. We are not born to be great parents and we were not intended to be perfect. We’re going to make mistakes. It’s up to us to acknowledge, learn and grow from them to continuously improve.
And it’s not just to improve as parents, but more so as individuals.
In striving to align with the best version of ourselves that already exists and connecting with our authentic self (our higher-self), we are then able to become a better parent, a better partner, a better daughter/son, a better friend, and so on…
It’s in working on ourselves day in and day out that we reach success in all areas of our lives, including relationships. But most importantly, we allow our children to find their own way in life and not one molded by our own vision for them.
What I’ve learned is that our children are not ours to create or mold, they came to us for direction, guidance, and believe it or not, to help US grow just as we are to help them grow. Not to make them something we want them to be but to allow them to find their way and become what they came here to be.
Give that a little thought for a moment…
I recently stumbled upon the renowned, Dr. Shefali Tsabary and her work on parenting from a higher level of consciousness. I knew immediately it was something I had to share. Dr. Shefali takes parenting to a level that has been evolving for decades. It involves empowerment of oneself, operating from a place of authenticity and higher consciousness, and how working on ourselves first will lead to successful parenting skills.
Two of her best-selling books are:
Both are a MUST read.
When I became a mom at the young age of 18, I had no idea what I was doing or how I was going to do it. I just knew I had to grow up and be a mom to a helpless, vulnerable baby girl. God knows I made a lot of mistakes but I know now that I did the best I could with what I knew how at that time.
I can’t go back and change how I went about or handled certain things or situations nor can I sit here and beat myself up for what I could have done and didn’t do, but what I can do is help you by sharing what I am living and learning so that you can avoid some of the mistakes I made while you still have a chance with your children.
It all begins with working on yourself…
Because we are a continuous work in progress, easily susceptible to the toxicity of the outside world, it’s important that you never stop working on yourself and that you make it a part of your daily ritual.
It is the greatest gift you can give yourself and those you love around you.
I encourage you to learn more about Dr. Shefali’s work for more in-depth knowledge on parenting from a higher level of consciousness and how she not only helps you evolve as an individual and in your parent/child relationship but in all other relationships as well.[bctt tweet=”There is no road to perfection, it’s a journey of continuous improvement, growth, and evolvement of the higher self.” username=”RawandAlive”]
I can’t express enough how this journey into higher consciousness and living a holistic lifestyle has changed my life. It has led me to operating from a “feel-good” and authentic state as I continue to gain greater awareness and connect at a deeper level of consciousness within. I encourage you to open yourself up to positive change and inner healing for yourself, your children, and those you love around you.
I promise, it’s the greatest gift you can ever give yourself and those you love.
Until the next one!
Love, peace, and conscious living,
