Quite often I hear people say, “I don’t have time” or “There just isn’t enough hours in a day to get all I need done.” Time, time, time… Wow. Time is such a culprit in our need to get things done. We blame time for everything. Not having enough of it just screws us all up, doesn’t it?
I will admit, I too am guilty of the, “I just don’t have enough time” statement. It happens to the best of us every so often and it’s OK. The truth is, we each share the same number of hours in a day as everyone else. It’s how we spend our time that makes the difference.
Balance is key.
When you live a life of optimism and positivity, you make room for more of the same. You begin to make time for your musts leaving your shoulds behind. Before you know it, you are shifting time around to make your musts happen while making lack of time a thing of the past.
There are several ways to begin making changes.
Begin writing down your goals. Writing down your goals for each day will give you an idea of how much time you will need for each goal to be completed. It will also allow you to organize your time throughout the day so that you can achieve them. The feeling of checking off your goals as you complete each one will give you a sense of accomplishment. It will even boost your self-confidence and motivate you to continue moving forward.
When you prioritize your goals down on paper, you get organized and manage your time more efficiently. You will soon find yourself making time for what you “must do” and forgetting what you “should do”.
Here are some tips to shift your life from negative to positive…
Give technology a rest. As hard as it may be, set aside the computer, tablet, phone, and any other form of technology you currently hold. It’s easy to let it all consume you and your time. Allow yourself the time to enjoy life and embrace positive change. There is so much that life has to offer with so much to do. You are here to live life to the fullest and make every moment count. Taking a break from technology will give you more time to spend with yourself, friends, and family.
Say No. It’s OK to say no. You don’t have to say “yes” to everyone and everything. Say no to what no longer serves you in any way. Things that are no longer of value or benefit you in any way only absorb precious time. Time in which could be enriching your life versus depreciating it, fueling your growth instead of minimizing it, and most importantly amplifying your happiness.
Network. Explore networking opportunities that involve what most interests you. This is a great way to meet new people and make new friends. It also gives you the opportunity to surround yourself with positive, like-minded individuals. Meeting new people while sharing ideas is a great way to grow and expand your mind. You never know who’s path you might cross in the process!
Detoxify. Not only is it important to detoxify your body, it is just as important to detoxify your life. Remove yourself from the path of destruction. This means clean house. Avoid interaction with negative people who are constantly complaining, gossiping, have a nasty attitude, or reflect zero personality. These type of people will only rub off on you and create all kind of negativity in your own life. Surround yourself by positive, optimistic, supportive people who inspire you and lift you up, not bring you down.
The fact is, you can’t change anyone so don’t even try. As much as you want to, it’s just not going to happen. I know this because I used to try and change people when the fact is, you cannot change anyone that does not wish to change. It’s best to let them go and move on. Even if it means letting go of friends. Remember, you create your own life and pave your own path. Be sure to choose wisely for who you let into your temple of greatness will play a big role on the kind of life and path you create.
Eat healthy. In order to be able to live your life to the fullest, living a healthful lifestyle should be an absolute must. To increase your productivity, be able to do the things you love and be efficient at work, you need to get sufficient amount of rest, eat healthier, and incorporate daily exercise. Your body can’t function to its maximum capacity if it is bogged down by lack of energy.
Living life is about continuous growth and reaching your full potential while making time for yourself and all that serves you in a positive way.
