Have you ever felt down, alone, hopeless, or felt like no one in the world cares about you or what you’re going through? You are not alone. We all have those moments in our lives where we fall, fall, and fall again. Where our lives just feel like they are spiraling out of control with no way out only to find yourself at your wits end. I believe we have all been there at one point or another in our lives. It’s how we get passed it that makes all the difference.
Sadly, some people stay stuck and continue to struggle while some rise above.
Those who stay stuck have lost hope because no matter what they have tried, the world continues to judge them, make them feel like they are nothing and will never amount to anything, ultimately leading them to believe it themselves. In turn, they give up. They give up on themselves and on life. When you believe that you are not good enough, you become not good enough.
You become what you believe.
Until an earth angel comes along and shows them the way…
If you are one who can relate, then you know what it feels like to lose hope and feel stuck until crossing paths with that one person who cares enough to share their love, kindness, and compassion with you while helping you see that there is in fact, light at the end of the tunnel after all and that you truly do matter.
So how about paying it forward by becoming a beacon of light in someone else’s life? There is no greater reward than spreading love, kindness, and compassion in the lives of those who need it most. You could very well be the reason they learn to live again.
Pay it forward with a simple act of kindness
It takes one simple kind gesture to brighten someone’s day. It doesn’t take much time to say “hello” or even exchange a smile. It can also be just as simple as holding the door open for someone and wishing them a great day ahead.
Sometimes all we need is just a little sunshine in our lives to remind us that we are going to be just fine and that someone out there does care.
One thing my daughter and I started doing a couple years back is that every time we would eat out somewhere we’d save our leftovers then walk around the uptown area of Charlotte where we knew we would run into homeless people on the street to be able to give them our food. We always seem to find someone who will gratefully accept. We do proceed with caution though, as we don’t want to stereotype and in turn offend anyone but in going within and having faith that the lord will lead the way, we have never been wrong.
It’s a great feeling to give and serve the community in even the smallest way. Teaching our kids to be a part of positive change while spreading love, kindness, and compassion is one of the greatest gifts you can give them.
There are so many ways you can make a difference in someone’s life and best of all, it’s FREE! It doesn’t cost a thing to pay it forward and extend a simple act of kindness to someone. It could be a stranger, friend, family member, or colleague. You never know whose life you may touch profoundly in the process.
Change begins with you.
Get in on the action with the #BlessingBoxCampaign
About Face Charlotte has done an amazing job creating and developing the Blessing Box Campaign to engage the community in spreading love, kindness, and compassion by paying it forward with random acts of kindness. The boxes come with colorful strips of paper and a pen so you can jot down every kind act you pay forward then stick it in the box. Once the box is completed, it gets turned in and the collection begins.
The campaign will run until March 31st at which point, the boxes will all be collected and used to build a wall. This wall will represent a community united versus divided.
The strips of paper with everyone’s acts of kindness will be used to create art projects that will allow people in the community come together to create. It’s a great way to bring communities together to grow into a stronger, more vibrant city of love and compassion.
Become a part of the campaign and start making a difference in the lives of those around you with each new day.
I’ve already picked up my boxes and I’m ready for distribution! Who else is in?! Post in the comments below.
If you don’t live in the Charlotte, NC area, I hope this project will inspire you to create positive change in the area you do live and start a viral chain reaction!
Together we can all make this world a better place in which to live.
Is there a community project you’ve created or been a part of that has brought about positive change? Share it in the comments below. Would love to hear all about it!
